Tired of just having enough money to get by? Does it seem like there’s never enough?
If you’ve been wanting more money for quite some time and it just isn’t showing up, chances are you’re stuck in a cycle of lack. Ick! And don’t let anyone fool you, we’ve ALL been there. It’s easy to do.
What is a cycle of lack?
It’s that feeling that there just isn’t enough so we hold back on spending and we feel guilty when we do spend. Sometimes we feel our money issues are completely out of control and do something rash like get a second job or put in twice as many hours in the job we have. For us business owners, the result is we either burn ourselves out, we give up on our dream of having a business or we significantly slow down the growth of our business. All are the opposite of what we want.
What can you do differently?
Typically, it does little good to solve a problem from the level of thinking that created it in the first place. Any solutions you come up with without adjusting your thinking will create similar results in your finances. That’s why very few people have experienced exponential gains. In fact, many people are working longer hours and making less (think about people who are salary).
How much money we can make is directly correlated with how much we THINK we are worth. Often, we let the world around us tell us what we’re worth including our employers, our economy, our industry, our peers, our past clients or our friends.
What I know for sure is that you are worth way more than you realize. The culmination of your experiences, knowledge, passion and expertise is as unique to you as your thumb print. You have something valuable that other people are looking for. You have unique gifts that can help others.
My question to you is…
Are you owning them? Are you putting your full SELF in to giving these gifts to others? And are you ASKING for what you’re worth?
Now, I’m not a money coach but I am a mindset coach and I have several clients that when they came to me hadn’t ever asked for what they are worth. They never asked for a raise, they never tried to renegotiate their contract, they never attempted to create a second income stream or start their own business. Yet, once we began to work on their self-worth, every single one of them began to think of ways to give themselves a raise.
In fact, one of my clients, a doctor, renegotiated her contract giving herself a $25,000 raise! How? By communicating her value to her employer in a compelling way and offering to do something she knew would be invaluable to her company as well as a pure delight for her. She did such a great job expressing her value that they gladly said yes!
Today, I invite you to…
Take stock of the difference you can make with the skills you have. There’s no need to go get fancy certificates or degrees. That’s putting off what you can do today with what skills you have.
Instead, list out what you do really well that we be super helpful for others. It could be organizing spaces or time, delegating to employees with finesse, modifying broken systems, training others on how to be more confident in their sales. You’re worth way more than you realize and that you’re expertise has value to others.
This helps you come from an abundance mindset. You are abundant with ideas, solutions and means to help others. There’s no shortage of the ways you can give. Best part is, when we give, we receive. It’s a universal law called the law of reciprocity.
So if you’ve been struggling to find ways to make money, start by thinking about ways you can give to others. I bet in that list is one or two ideas that really excited. Why not implement one and see how it goes.
Best wishes,
Danielle
